The Static Experience
The STATIC Experience 2025 at Cerritos college was a free, student-focused event centered around STATIC, a comedic coming-of-age short film based on real experiences written, directed and co-produced by Caleb Dunomes, a Cerritos alumni. Set in Long Beach, the story follows Cain, a college sophomore, in hit attempts to enjoy the end of his summer break. Before the start of his junior year at Cal State Long Beach he begins to seek to find his place in the creative space. Through this last week of the summer, he is taken through various incidents that seem ridiculous but give him a idea of the real world. “STATIC” acts as a sort of coming of age story for Cain.

At Cerritos College’s performing arts center, the experience includes a pre-screening mixer with live music and art, film screening, and a post-film discussion panel. The event is designed as a dynamic, immersive space celebrating individuality, culture, and community, through means of invited guests, booths and a food truck.
The Physical Experience
The experience was composed of several components: an ASCC Funded Food Truck for the first 40 guests, a craft-table with custom Static Campaign coloring pages and ice breaking opportunities such as Jenga and corn hole.
